Eunice & Matt | An Engagement Session at the Kennedy Center

Eunice & Matt knew each other in high school but it wasn't until afterwards that they began dating. We took a sunset walk around the Kennedy Center which was absolutely stunning.

Eunice is probably the sweetest person we have ever met & she was beaming all evening. We typically photograph couples as we walk and get moments candidly, but sometimes we'll stop in a really nice place and take some portraits. When we asked Eunice to make a serious face, she would try, but end up laughing, but as we walked around the Kennedy Center, Matt made sure that the smile never left her face.

We loved photographing this couple because they were incredibly silly like us, but photographing them was like a dream! Everything about their session is dreamy from the trees to the lighting to the planes over head, but most importantly this beautiful couple! This engagement session is definetly one of our favorites!

And yes, we chartered those planes! :)

Madison's Old Town Fredericksburg Senior Photoshoot

When we did this senior session we were so happy to work with four fantastic girls Maggie, Madison, Erin, & Ryley!  They are a close knit group of girls from Mountain View High School.

Madison has already decided to commit to Bucknell University after college! She plays for Mountain View's field hockey team which has lead to one of her biggest accomplishments of her high school career by receiving First Team All State for Field Hockey twice! We hope to see a repeat of that this year and see Madison off to Bucknell on a very high note!

Take a look at a few of our favorites of Madison during our downtown fredericksburg senior photoshoot!

Anna & Del's Chic Wedding at Hotel Washington in Downtown DC

Anna & Del said their I Dos at the Hotel Washington in Downtown Washington, D.C.. The W provided the perfect modern vibe to blend their classic taste into an elegant but edgy backdrop for their guests to celebrate their love.

Anna & Del have one of the cutest first date stories, they both were transplants in Dubai, Anna form the UK & Del from the US. While working for sister companies in the same building, Anna caught Del’s eye as she milled around the office. Eventually Del was able to learn Anna’s name and after inviting her to a few group happy hours, Del mustered up the courage to ask Anna out on a date. Anna accepted, but to Del’s surprise, this would be Anna’s first date!

They met at Villa Beach at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, one of the most romantic restaurants in Dubai. Del met Anna with a bouquet of flowers, but as this was her first date she was a little confused by “date flowers” so as they cruised across the property in a golf cart, Del hung onto them for her. When they arrived at Villa Beach, Del had not made reservations for the most romantic restaurant in Dubai, but the hostess was able to seat them at a table covered in rose petals overlooking the sea. At this point, Del was quickly explained that he had not requested this table and feared that this was overkill after Anna’s response to the flowers, but this was simply the table set up for the restaurant. When they sat, everything fell into place, they would end up talking for an hour before placing their order. They finished up their date at the rooftop bar and when Anna returned home that night, she was so happy & excited that she couldn’t sleep.

It wouldn’t be until months later that Anna told Del that the squid ink risotto that he had eaten that night had stained his teeth black for most of dinner and was partially part of the reason why she found herself smiling and laughing at him throughout the night.

On the night of their wedding it seemed as if they were reliving their first date, you couldn't wipe the smiles off of their faces as they danced and celebrated with their friends & family. As Spice Girls throwback played, heels were tossed aside, ties were tied around guests heads and Anna & Del danced their wedding night away with their closest loved ones!

Maggie's Downtown Fredericksburg Senior Session

Maggie was the glue to this senior session, bringing us together with all of these wonderful girls! Erin, Ryley, Madison & Maggie are a close group of girls from Mountain View High School, paired with a couple of their hilarious moms, we met up in Downtown Fredericksburg for one of the funniest sessions we've had to date!

Once Maggie graduates she is planning on playing Division 2 Field Hockey at the College of William and Mary. Maggie plays with Madison on the Mountain View High School Field Hockey team which won the State Championship for Field Hockey. When not on the field Maggie says that her talent is cooking!

Take a look at a couple of our favorites from our senior session featuring Maggie!

Cute Family Portraits at the Lavender and Herb Festival at the Lovemore Lavender Farm

On a Saturday in late June we were invited to photograph at the Lovemore Lavender Farm for their first annual Lavender and Herb Festival. The Lovemore Lavender Farm run by Maria Loveless and her husband, is situated on the side of a busy road in Owings Maryland, but once you pulled up to the festival you are greeted by the soothing scent of Lavender hanging in the air.

We were joined by a mix of vendors at the Festival from the fine folks at Scorpioh Brewery who served Lavender Beer that was infused with Lavender, local wine, crafts, and food. There was something for everyone! It was an incredible day full of great people, wonderful vendors and as the sound of live music filled the field we photographed some of the cutest kids and families.

We can not wait until we go back next year! Here are some of our favorites from the day!

Dasha + Marco | Romantic Evening Wedding at Samovar in Rockville Town Square

Marco asked Dasha to marry him the same way he had asked her to be his girlfriend, sitting in Dasha's car in a parking lot. It was Dasha's Birthday and they were heading back from a night out at a local favorite, Ogies. Dasha had just gotten her nails done that day and when Marco asked to see them that night, he slid an engagement ring on her finger and asked Dasha to marry him! She, of course, said yes. They both agree that parking lots are kind of their thing and they wouldn't have it any other way.

Dasha & Marco's Wedding was as simple and beautiful as their intimate proposal held at Samovar in the Rockville Town Square. Throughout the whole evening, they had their arms wrapped around one another laughing and dancing together. We loved being part of their big day and can't wait for all of our future photo sessions we have planned with this great couple!

Check out some of our favorites from Dasha & Marco's Wedding!

Capitol Hill Family Portrait & Maternity Session | The Last Few Days before Baby

I know you aren't suppose to judge a book by it's cover, but when we parked in front of this family's Capitol Hill home, I knew that this was going to be an adorable family session and we were not disappointed. As soon as we came through the door we were met with the excited little ones who were asking all sorts of questions about us, our equipment, and what we were doing. This was their first time being photographed and in the beginning the they were a little shy, but by the end they were all over momma & giving her belly sweet kisses.

When their first two babies were born, Mom & Dad were so busy with life that they hadn’t had the time to fully enjoy their first two pregnancies as much as they would have liked, but this time it would be different. This would be their third and final baby and they were fully enjoying it this time around, taking it slow, getting maternity photos they hadn’t gotten before, and simply having mom enjoying being pregnant!

We were so happy to be part of this special time and capture the last few family photos before the kids would outnumber the parents and this family would become a family of 5. Here are some of our favorites from our Maternity & Family Session with this family!
